Does Education Leads To Success?

I think education is to provide the skill needed to success. But i personally feel that the attitude and the way way you work with each other is what actually determines your success. This is because we are not able to do everything alone. Thus, interacting with others is an important key to get the job done. Also only with the right attitude, then we are able to achieve success.

I believe each and everyone of us has our definition of being success in our own lives .Mine could be becoming a millionaire and having a luxurious life, while others’ success could be earning a honour of doing many good deeds.

Education can lead to success, this is what most people thought of . This is true but this isn’t the only way that leads to success. Some people succeed in their lives without having a high certificate/degree. A good example will be George Quek , one of most successful local entrepreneur . He only has an O level certificate and yet he is the founder of BreadTalk and having over 24 outlets of bread store in Singapore.

Most of us have to rely on education in order to succeed in our lives and getting a good prospect. While the minority who might be the gifted ones are able to succeed without the aid of education. Example of people who succeeded through education are Sergey Brin and Larry Page .These 2 people graduated from Stanford University with Ph.D. They are the founders of Google, the top search engine in this modern world of technology. By creating Google makes them a billionaire. Another great example will be Warren Buffet . Buffett enrolled at Columbia Business School . He received a M.S in Economics from Columbia Business School in 1951. Buffett also attended the New York Institute of Finance .Even though Warren Buffet is a talented investor , he needs to help of education to develop his hidden potential and enhance his ability.

Everyone has the ability to be successful , it only depends on what type of choice he is determine to make . Sometime risk taking can also help one to be successful as well. This the reason why a large amount of successful people are businessman , because businessman tend to take risk in order to bring their company into a whole new level.

Education is just a stepping stone for many people to be successful. Its all depend on each person sheer determination, perseverance and hard work.

Personally, I think that education teaches us how to read but fails to teach us what is worth reading because in the end, the books that i read for enjoyment and knowledge are the ones most worth reading. Success, is something very vague and doesn't only has one meaning to it. It could also be in a sense of happiness, love, money, status, cars, family or even accomplishment. Therefore, I think that the way we interact with others (friends or collegues) and lead others is really what push us to the next level. I have an uncle, who only achieved O level qualifications but is successfully having his own shipping business, and he did it by just being well known for his kind, always helping and friendly personality. He is now earning around 10k a month. There are many ways to success, and I am just saying that education is not the only path we have.

In my opinion I find that paper qualifications in s'pore is very important because ;-   

1.   We are facing intense competion among local working adults. Furthermore more and more skilled foreign talents are coming for jobs opportunities in s'pore.  this make it even harder for me to secure a job that can eventually last my lifetime. Thus, with a paper qulification, it will provide many opportuinites for me. For example, I can specialise in one faculty,  however with a certificate the variety of jobs are wider and furthermore, i don't have to worry about securing a job. because if i lose my job there will be another door open up for me.   

2.   In th process of getting the certification, universities also provide students with internship. this will help the undergrades to gain experience in thier future jobs. thus while studying and gaining knowledge. i will aslo have a better understandind on the skills that im required to have in the working life.
